LANTERNA MAGICA
魔灯计划
Lanterna Magica is being relaunched with a focus on young professionals. Through authentic and in-depth non-fiction feature stories, it aims to showcase the lives of youth in the cultural and entertainment industry, reflecting the diversity of this field and its limitless potential for progress.
It originates from Lanterna Magica, one of humanity’s earliest projection devices. As the first projection instrument in history, it used convex lenses and light to project images vividly before the viewer. We take the concept of pinhole imaging as a metaphor, using a hand-formed aperture to capture insights into the world. Much like Borges’ Aleph, which encompasses the entirety of the universe, the Magic Lantern Project seeks to illuminate the unknown, the vast, and the stories that explore a multitude of possibilities.

Each article is the result of meticulous reporting, investigation, and writing by journalists, and we wanted to preserve the vibrancy of this creative process.
We use pinhole imaging as a metaphor, forming an aperture with our hands to capture insights into the world. Like Borges’ Aleph, which encompasses the entire universe, we extended this concept into five distinct graphic symbols, each representing a different facet of the Magic Lantern’s content.
